Tears

Brought Reii for her vaccinations on Monday.
She has always been very brave and had hardly cried when given her jabs since she was a baby.
This Monday was different...she knows what a jab is gonna feel like.
She grabbed me and sat on my lap.
Ouch, no. 1 jab on the left and no.2 on the right.
Sob sob, tears came rolling down.
"Mummy, it is so painful".
I kissed her, my little baby.
My baby, my darling, don't cry, it's over, it aint that bad after all huh? (yeh, what if the jab's for mummy huh???)
And she soon stopped too...the remaining evidence of her bravery ....a prominent white plaster on both arms.
My brave warrior, my Joy!

The Singapore Syndrome

Alas! Alas! Alas!
Reii had to be referred to the Geylang Polyclinic & was then referred to the Opthalmologist at KKWCH. The panicky mum-Yours Truly Me, managed to clinch an earlier appointment and the dear princess was seen on 1st September. Diagnosis??150 degrees of myopia on both sides and a squint to correct!

Another milestone. Another statistic to the thousand bespectacled children in tiny Singapore. She got her prescription filled, chose her own plastic frame(was it SGD128) & wala!
On an unforgettable Sunday the 3rd of September 2006, my darling precious Reii became instantly transformed into another victim of too many " perhapses" --- perhaps bad eye genes, perhaps too much GameBoy(blame it on the cheap cartridges we got from Shanghai), perhaps too much reading in bad lightning situations, perhaps, just perhaps. Too many perhaps indeed.

Another tooth pulled out on Sunday. Tooth Number Two, 第二个牙。
Another major event in Reii's life. Another milestone.

So many major events. But, where is Mummy & Daddy?
We wonder, she wonders........

Missing My Girl

My Reii had her first shaky tooth pulled out by my mom last week.
To be precise, it happened on 24th August 2006.
She was a brave gal. My mom just had to take it out as she could see the permanent teeth creeping & crowding in.
I sent her an email the following Monday. The email reads........

Dearest Darling Reii,
I am sorry that mummy was not around when you had your first tooth pulled out .
I am sorry that I was not there to hold your hands. To put the gauze in your mouth to stop the bleeding.
Can you keep the tooth for mummy to see please?
Mummy loves you very much.

Its me again,
Mummy

Sigh. Sad. Missing my Girl. My Darling Reii.
