Mt Dandenongs...Feasting Time

Yesterday, we decide to drive up Mt Dandenong to buy some pies. It was a rather foggy day and in some parts of the roads, we were briefly covered in fog. We managed to get a 350pm booking for tea at the famous quaint English Tearoom - Ms Marples TeaRoom (as in Ms Marples from Agatha Christie's novels). While waiting, we explored the beautiful shops and bought Reii an 'R' alphabet magnet from Pepito's. We stumbled unto an open patch and tried sinfully delicious hot fudge and ended buying 3 pieces of Chocolate, Tiramisu and Bailey's flavoured fudge all for $12.
At Ms Marple's we had beautiful Strawberry and Blueberry Waffle and One of Each (plain and Fruit) Scone. Reii enjoyed her cuppa Hot Choc with Marshmallow (mummy...only one marshmallow.??.) while we were equally contented with our hot brew of tea. There were many beautiful teapots on display on the shelves and we were kept warm by a real warm fire near the back of this tearoom. All soon, the food went straight to our tummies.
So what about Pies???? We did reach Olinda, another 3km away to grab Beef and Mushroom Pie and Steak Pie ($4 each cos takeaway...savings of $1) and had to leave the mountain as darkness had already crept in.
Our palates were also introduced to yummy Potato Cakes, bought from the Fish and Chips shop. These are liken those found in the Goreng Pisang range. How on earth did they find such huge potatoes to slice up?
The drive down was even more tense as it was really dark and there were no cars in front of us. Concentration was really required to manoeuvre bends, pass through thick fog while we made the descent and with several cars patiently trailing us. They must be happy that at least they were not in the lead. Dinner time...to BoxHill's David and Camy....Century Egg and Pork Porridge, Singapore Fried Bee Hoon and PanFried Pork Dumplings...all for $23...before the super full 3 of us, headed home.....

Queen's Birthday Trip

The Queen's Birthday....we went gallivanting in Yarra Valley.
Lavendar Farm - Pic taking, shopping for lavender products....hmmmm,so nice.
Then to Big Bouquet which is actually a big nursery selling Gerbernas - beautiful flowers from South Africa but now grown here and side farm full of alpacas...pls dont spit at us!!!
We had a feast there...see the pies? We ordered meat pie, sherpard pie, mushroom pie, wedges, latte, hot chocolate drink etc.
Next stop at a Rose Nursery. There were so many varieties and the cheapest was $25. We only took pics.
Ha, Reii's favourite stop is next....the HedgendMaze. Entry was costly at $12.50 per person for us to get lost in the maze. Yippee said Reii. She eas so excited. I walked till I was in a blur but little brilliant Reii found the way out.
Thereafter Reii went to play a round of Mini Golf and we met a huge Moron on the course. Moron!!!! Last stop was the RedGum Gallery. Wares and art pieces by the local artist...all going for a bomb!
